Caps of Courage

Lions Clubs International's "Caps of Courage" is a volunteer-led initiative within the UK and Ireland that creates and distributes handmade caps, patchwork quilts an other comfort items for children undergoing cancer treatment, providing them with sense of hope and confidence.

The program, which directly supports the Lions' Global Childhood Cancer Cause, relies on volunteers to knit, sew and crochet items whilst hospitals and Cancer Charities help to deliver them.

How it Works

Volunteers:

"Sewing Heroes" and other crafts people knit, sew, or crochet soft, hypoallergenic caps and child-sized patchwork quilts.

Materials:

Volunteers may use their own supplies or receive fabric from the Caps of Courage project.

Partnerships

The program collaborates with NHS hospitals, cancer charities, and Lions members across the UK.

Distribution

Caps and quilts are provided free of charge to children receiving cancer treatment, offering comfort and joy during a difficult time.
